Bifacial Dual-Glass · 430–720 W

Two faces.
One yield story.

Bifacial modules generate from the front and the rear. On reflective ground — white gravel, snow, white roofs — that rear side adds +5–30% energy, and in high-albedo sites the premium pays back in about 0.74 years. Our line is built on 2.0+2.0 mm tempered dual-glass, so the yield gain comes with the durability buyers expect from exposed sites.

Bifacial Explained

Albedo is free energy

The rear side of the module captures light reflected by the ground — and how much it captures depends on albedo, the reflectivity of the surface below. On grass (albedo ~0.2) expect roughly +5–8%; on white roofs, snow or light gravel (albedo 0.5–0.8) the gain climbs to +20–30%. Three things decide the real number on your site:

  • Surface — white membranes, gravel and snow return the most light to the rear cells
  • Mounting height — elevated mounts and single-axis trackers open the rear view: tracker LCOE already reaches USD 37/MWh
  • 2.0+2.0 mm dual-glass — both faces are tempered glass, so the rear cells are protected like the front, with no backsheet to corrode

The cost math is straightforward: a 2.5–6% price premium versus up to 30% gain. On high-albedo sites the payback can land around 0.74 years — the rest of the 30-year warranty is margin.

Why Buyers Choose Bifacial

Three numbers importers quote back to us

Gain

+5–30%

Rear-side energy by albedo — white roofs, snow and light gravel return the most light, and elevated mounts multiply the effect.

Durability

2.0+2.0 mm glass

No backsheet on the rear face — IEC 61701 salt-mist and IEC 62716 ammonia options cover coastal, farm and desert sites.

Warranty

30 yr linear

0.4%/yr degradation to 87.4% at year 30, factory-backed and transferable — the bankability sheet your financier asks for.

Applications

Where the rear side earns its keep

Utility

Single-axis trackers

Elevated rows open the rear view — tracker LCOE already reaches USD 37/MWh, and bifacial adds the last yield points.

Carports

Elevated canopies

Raised mounting over paving adds +10–20% rear gain on the same footprint as the car park.

Agrivoltaics

Raised rows

Panels over crops and grazing capture soil and plant-reflected light — a market that crossed USD 5.5B.

C&I

White-membrane roofs

Light-colored roofing membranes return +20–30% to the rear cells, and dual-glass keeps roof loads in check.

Bifacial FAQ

Before you send the RFQ

Answers to the four questions that decide a bifacial order. The full 16-question FAQ covers MOQ, shipping and warranty terms.

Full FAQ
When does bifacial NOT pay for itself?
On low-albedo sites — dark rooftops around 0.1–0.2 albedo with fixed, low mounting can deliver under 5% gain, which may not cover the premium. We will quote the monofacial line for those.
Is dual-glass stronger than a backsheet module?
2.0+2.0 mm tempered glass passes the same IEC 61215 mechanical and hail sequences and removes the backsheet failure mode; expect roughly 2–4 kg more weight per module.
Which certificates ship with bifacial modules?
IEC 61215, IEC 61730, CE, ISO 9001/14001/45001 and IEC 62941 as standard; salt mist IEC 61701 and ammonia IEC 62716 on request; UL 61730 option for North America.
What warranty applies?
15-year product and 30-year linear power warranty — 87.4% of rated output at year 30, factory-backed and transferable to your end customer.
